Medium describes unusual signs from loved ones

A MEDIUM with millions of followers online has suggested that flies and frogs could be signs from “dead” loved ones.

Theresa Caputo is known as the “Long Island Medium,” as she lives on the New York island next door to her parents. She starred in a TV series of the same name from 2011-2019, bringing her widespread fame.

Theresa recently appeared on Kaitlyn Bristowe’s Off the Vine podcast, revealing that the biggest misconception she faces is that people think she can see into the future.

“That’s not what I do,” said Theresa, when Kaitlyn joked about using her psychic skills to predict winning lottery numbers.

Instead, the medium explained that she “channels the souls of the departed,” bringing messages to comfort the bereaved and encourage people to trust their own intuition.

“I believe we all have the ability to connect with our loved ones,” Theresa added. “I want people to know that what they sense or feel is real.”

Theresa had no idea she was psychic until aged 30. After the birth of her daughter Victoria, she experienced acute anxiety and couldn’t leave the house.

Theresa’s mother suggested she should talk to a spiritual woman, who identified her mediumistic ability.

“I would walk into a store and suddenly feel I couldn’t breathe,” said Theresa. “I came to realise that was a soul I was connecting with.

“Even a cloud, a butterfly, a ladybird – it’s the soul getting our attention to remind us they haven’t left us,” she said.
“When it’s my nanny it’s a big, fat, hairy fly that I see. My Aunt Jane’s sign is frogs. A friend’s husband sends rabbits as signs.”

“I’m always sensing and feeling things. I meditate and pray every day to release any negative emotions, and imagine myself engulfed in God’s white light of purity and protection.”

Theresa is a practising Roman Catholic, “even though they don’t agree with what I’m doing.

“It’s an honour and a privilege to do this work. I was built to do it… I’m just the vessel the souls are using. I know that my gift is guided by God.”

After the 2001 terrorist attack on New York, Theresa’s spirit guide told her that “thousands of people will need help with information about what has happened to their loved ones. I put myself at the service of God.”

One piece of advice she offers is for individuals to look out for signs that their loved ones are near.

Although she always wants to be kind, Theresa admitted that sometimes a spirit communicator may cause her to “blurt out” a message if they know it is what the recipient needs to hear.

“Sometimes I feel I can’t say what I’m being shown – if there was violence or a struggle – but they very rarely say there was fear,” she explained, before telling of an instance which was shocking but very healing.

Before an audience of 3,000 people, Theresa “told a woman ‘God took your baby.’ She cried and said she had been hiding a secret for years: she’d been raped by a family member and prayed for a miscarriage. Then it happened.”

Knowing that the tragic event had been in answer to her prayer, Theresa said the “message changed her life.”

Having been shown how they mistreated people while on Earth, Theresa said that sometimes spirit contacts want to apologise to those they hurt.

“There’s no hatred or animosity on the Other Side,” the medium added. “We go through a life review.

“Some might say ‘Tell my daughter I’m sorry’ because they’ve had to feel what it was like when they were unkind to people.”

Theresa believes we are on Earth to learn lessons and will return time after time in another life. However, some old souls – and she believes herself to be one – may finally leave the physical world forever and move on.

Theresa has said she is not concerned if people do not believe in her psychic ability.

“More importantly, I want them to believe in themselves,” she commented. “That they still have this connection with their loved ones, and that a soul bond will never be broken.”

Theresa has written four books about her work and has a regular podcast titled HEY SPIRIT! Her website is at
